Chicken Hot Rod was formed in 1969 when two mudholes were crushed under pressure during a seismic event and cracked open to produce a bluegrass band with an unpredictable fault line.
From that day ‘til this, Chicken Hot Rod contains the following:

Chicken Hot Rod recorded an album in 1972 which has since been certified Plywood, and recently re-released it yet again once more to an unsuspecting public.
They were the first bluegrass band to become a member of the National Coffeehouse Circuit, where they performed in 26 states at over 200 colleges and universities. Due to this experience, they have all learned to read and write.
Never satisfied with the status quo, they have recently become old and fat.
Based in North Carolina and Tennessee, the band is currently touring Interstate 40 and playing for weddings, wakes, confirmations, goat ropings, snake rollings, ashtray emptyings, marbles tournaments and bluegrass festerings.
